Note: Connecticut - Class 8 and up - vehicles are single-trailer trucks with four or fewer axles. This category includes all vehicles consisting of two units, one of which is a tractor or straight truck power unit.
Class 9 vehicles are those with five axles and two units, one of which is a tractor or straight truck power unit.

If you are a carriers crossing the states of NY, KY, NM, OR or CT and depending your gross weight, are required to obtain the permit from the state they are crossing and must report their miles quarterly or annually in the case of NY (a service we also have for you).

These permits must be renewed/updated at the end of each year with the exception of NY where it could be every 3 years depending on the date you are registering.
